First things first….And I won’t bury the lead….As promised “in my next post you will find out where we’re going”….drum roll please…..We are Birmingham bound. We are thrilled about the new chapter but it is still a bittersweet transition, saying goodbye to Montgomery.
Now, the next question may be, “Where will you be working?”
I am excited to announce I will be the new morning meteorologist for WIAT 42 (CBS affiliate) with Chief meteorologist Mark Prater and Meteorologist Teddy Mac.
After spending part of weekend up in Birmingham, meeting new friends, visiting with old friends, and taking a little time to enjoy the pool I felt rejuvenated for what the next 9 days will hold: several last-lunches, lots of goodbyes, and too many boxes to pack.
You know the feeling of living off adrenaline? Well, that’s kind of how I feel right now. I am full of excitement about the new chapter and full of sadness for saying some final goodbyes. Our journey has been one of really trusting in the Lord. He has opened the doors and revealed only one step at a time. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if this is where we would be I would have laughed and said “sounds nice, but not our life.” We had purchased a lot in Montgomery, had designed a new house, and were days away from breaking ground when life started changing. My husband accepted a new job. I submitted for my resignation in January, without having a job. The plan would be to be a mommy for a minute. God changed gears and said “I have just the thing.” He opened a door for to me take a morning role where I could spend a good portion of my day at home with my littles. We put our house on the market here, we bought a house in Birmingham. Life has been clicking along at a fairly quick pace these last few months.
So, let the countdown begin! 9 days (EEEK! I can’t believe the countdown is in the single digits!)
Each day, for my remaining days, I will write a brief blog on a memory or inspiration from my time here in Montgomery.
